Specific Landmarks - Seun Dede
This morning I’d love to be specific about Landmarks
We have so many Landmarks
You can separate a landmark out of every historical story
Bible is broken into
History, Poetry, Prophecy and Epistles
I’ve shared this here before
History presents us with Landmarks from the bible
Jesus already told us we were going to do greater works
And so the history of the church and Christianity after revelations carries landmarks emulatable today
But the bible word is our first reference
Not just the letter, but the Light of Gods word gotten from scripture
From the bible
Abrahams story shows us a landmark of Faith and Obedience
Very much applicable today
Be Obedient to Gods Instructions however they come to you, We have the bible drive the instructions that come to our minds, maturity will teach you to separate who is talking
: But let me quickly give you a simple mind blowing hint!
The Devil and God are never saying the same thing
So if you feel you don’t here God and you feel it’s been the devil telling you whatever
Knowing this should automatically tell what God is saying in a still small voice
THE OPPOSITE!!!!!!
Gods character from scripture must be studied to know him and hear him and take it further in relating with him
It doesn’t stop at hearing
The conversation between cain and God already tells us that there’s more to hearing!!!!
Abraham is proof that you can be closer for being obedient to what God said
The bible says and he obeyed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness
And God loves communicating right back
It’s somewhere there in Genesis
Would appreciate for someone to get it for me
It says shall I do a thing without telling my servant abraham
Omo this obedience thing
We can’t shout it enough
God says
For I know Abraham, that he will command his household to do after I have said
So Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe
Thank You Grace❤️❤️❤️❤️
So folks
Landmarks plenty for table
: There are landmarks of Prayer
: Landmarks of Worship
: Landmarks of relationship
Landmarks of What again???
Type any that comes to mind
Landmarks of Honour: Honour Generation z
Honour thy father and mother should have been added as a lead scripture
Our Fathers and Mothers are pace setters who knew about landmarks too
I’m not just looking at this from biological perspective
It is not age bound, Someone asked me a question
About spiritual father hood
You are right that its the spiritual maturity and Burdens for a generation that put us on that pedestal to mentor or disciple men
Ancient Landmarks only know those who followed them
It’s more about what is to be upheld than who is doing the maintenance
That’s why we trust God and remind ourselves of The Landmarks as a way of saying “I have something to look at as a template for whatever I do”
: Ancient Landmark of Prayer and Fellowship
God said if my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray
God himself came to fellowship with man in the Garden
Na God start ancien landmarks of Fellowship
In all these things
We are to follow those, Who through faith and patience
Obtained the promise
Though we are few
We’re surrounded by many who have crossed that river before
Can we pray as I round up
For grace to uphold ancient landmarks
Landmarks are a much better patter than total emulations man’s strength and weaknesses
Elisha took the mantle after Elijah had left and was able to separate the Jordan
But Elisha was an angry man
Just like his master
If he had prayed, God would have reminded him of the Ten Commandments which would have been his own reference in his time
Let’s pray
Father help us
Grace to honour these values passed down from generations
Let us build character with the raw material of these landmarks
Let’s say thank you Jesus for today
Pray that he opens our understanding further to learn more as we continue
Say Thank you to Jesus
Someone will read this
I hear by the spirit
Begin to respond to things around with THANK YOU JESUS
Just go ahead and shout Thank You Jesusππ½π₯ππ½
So grateful this morning
Ancient Landmarks of thanksgiving
