Seun Dede -The Ancient Landmarks

Father we thank you for bringing the consciousness of the theme you’ve given us. 

We pray you help us become transformed as we share insights from your word

Amen🙏🏽

Proverbs 22:29 says

Remove not the landmarks 

Which thy forefathers have set 

I personally feel instructions are relative, this word could have come as “Leave the ancient landmarks” 

It could have come with a passive tone 

But God sent the word through an active instructive tone. 

My emphasis still currently on the word REMOVE NOT

This instruction is a STRROONG one 

Who remembers TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED??? 

That looks to me like a scripture that will make you pity anything from anywhere actually coming to disturb you 

God said Touch Not, if they touch, they suffer the consequences 

God sternly warns through the poet here

Do not remove, like a warning sign, written in red

I’m establishing this to iterate the importance of what has been done

Is it true that even our Projects at Tertiary Level partially required for a degree require reference from those who have done something similar in the past!

So we make REFERENCE to WORK DONE

Ancient Landmarks are works our fathers have done

Bible says to Not remove them

I’m going somewhere

The one constant thing in this walk of Faith that has transcended generations is GOD

God can abide with a man for Hundreds of Generations to come

But the template a generation will have to build on and make progress in God further than the generations before still lie in the hands of the generations before usI love the history of church

I found out that summarily

We started as Catholic

Peter being the first pope

But over time, expressions have broken out due to paradigm shifts necessary for a generation coming to deal with

 So the Protestant church broke out of the Main Orthodox setup

And the Pentecostal broke out of the the Protestant

And then these  new model expressions broke out of the  main Pentecostal expressions

I care to state that a strong disagreement with the person who brought you up does not change the fact that he brought you up 

You just grew old enough to disagree because God created man to have FREEWILL 

Man has a choice because of this

And so nobody can box him into a system because God created an innovative man

But Man is not what is constant here, it’s what God created in man that remains constant soldier come soldier go

Man is merely a response vessel 

There’s a soul within and there’s a spirit 

Those are where the real activities are taking place

And so the ancient landmarks will be teaching us God’s dealings with men that became precepts that should never be tossed aside in a bid to fit into a generational change

A generation passed a test because they did not yield to an invite to change a simple order their fathers had given them

It’s somewhere in Jeremiah

 Their choice not to drink was because their father simply said so

And so no amount of Rhema and tech that came into their time convinced them otherwise

We must beware of the devices of the devil

Whose purpose as stated in John 10 10 is to steal kill and destroy

And one of this devices

Let me tell you plainly now

Is Trendy patterns of Cosmos

That something is trending does not make it right

Some of you think our forefathers don’t have sense

Only time usually tells us who has sense

I study how things have been a lot

The most important thing to me most of the times Are the precepts that yielded the mind blowing results

 We have been blessed the most OF ALL GENERATIONS in this Jet Age to have technological advancement

With God level influence very possible because of Man’s invention 

Yet what we have the most are abusers and pervertors

Imagine having the type of zeal our fathers had

I’m not saying we are not trying 

This is just a challenge to do better

And reference those who have done so!

We thank God for the grace to share these thoughts

 Thank you Lord for a great start at this conference 

I pray that this wake up call revives us

Take all the glory in Jesus name
