Ezekiel Ayoola - The ancient landmarks
Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.
Ancient words ever true
Changing me, and changing you.
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart
Can we all pray with this song as we start to night
Let the Lord open the scroll to you as we journey tonight
Warning ⛔️ what we are doing tonight is spiritual
Not just a letter but the spirit
Thank you holyspirit
Thank you lord
Our anchor scripture tonight
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Provb 22:8
We understand landmark is to give direction but the Bible refers a landmark as a boundary
God was very strict about this boundaries in the ancient times that he pronounced curse upon those who would move them in order to advantage themselves.
I pray God will remind us of where we are coming from
Pray God Remind us how he’s use to walk with us
I pray he reminds us our value
He will remind us of our focus
God will us courage to rise up
In this end time
Jeremiah 6:16
16 This is what the Lord says:
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
17
I appointed watchmen over you and said, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But you said, ‘We will not listen.’
18
Therefore hear, you nations; you who are witnesses, observe what will happen to them.
For the proper interpretation for this context for this text/verse we have to go back to the first chapter
So it give us direction of where we are coming from because it a journey
For GOD to say and declare verse 16
You don’t use the word OLD to a substance , a way or thing except something as made it discarded
Because God never change
There’s nothing old for him doing thing
God word is a living way
It new ever morning
So it means something must have happen
For God to say Old “
What could made the biblical path old
Who could have presented the word of God old
What has happened ?
Jeremiah 1:4
Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
As we journey back to chapter one
The first context is the CALL OF JEREMIAH
We need to understand this call
Before we can get to chapter 6
The call of Jeremiah was a call of confrontation
Confrontation on recklessness ,the misbehaviour of Gods people from the right way
Only People who are not looking for applause
Only men who are not seeking for fame are the ones called like Jeremiah
Men who are to become Jeremiah are very scarce
People who are not looking for applause
Only men who are not seeking for fame are the ones called like Jeremiah
Men who are to become Jeremiah are very scarce
How can God sent a Jeremiah to a nation who said is a child ?
If there’s no Jeremiah, there wouldn’t have been a call.
We are not train to be men pleasers
We are not train to be suit sayers
Mathew 5
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Jeremiah 2:1-5
2 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
3 Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord.
4 Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
5 Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
